Plymouth Place Phases 1 & 2

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Client: Plymouth Place

Eventus was originally engaged to lead a master planning process to address certain existing common areas of the Community and a plan for the replacement of existing independent living cottages that were no longer marketable. The process included conducting focus groups and a charrette to vet design options and a phasing plan that would accomplish the client’s objectives. The master plan and related financial analysis were completed at the end of 2020.

Subsequently, Eventus was engaged to manage the full implementation of the master planning process, which resulted in a 166,000 SF project comprised of a new Center for Healthy Living (CHL) and new Independent Living component - the Arboretum Villas. The project was phased.

The Center for Healthy Living features an indoor pool and spa, locker rooms, dining venue, wine bar, and a creative learning center. Indoor corridors connect the CHL to the Arboretum Villas buildings.

Each villa has a private patio or balcony, indoor parking, and access to outdoor amenities like bocce ball, pickle ball, a putting green, walking paths, and a rooftop garden. There is a clubhouse with kitchen and golf simulator lounge. Each building offers varying unit sizes with customizable finish options.

The project received first place recognition for the category of Renovation/Repositioning (Campus) for the 2024 Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards. Click here for the submission with more project info.
